Gamma Cloud terms

Last updated: 2026-10-05.

These terms cover Gamma Cloud: the account at account.gammapdf.com and the paid plans that add a hosted Gamma server. They are an agreement between you and the developer of Gamma, referred to below as "we". The Gamma software itself (the desktop app, the server you can host yourself, the browser extension) is open source and is covered by its own license, not by these terms. How your data is handled is described in the privacy policy.

The short version#

Your account#

You need a confirmed e-mail address to use a Gamma Cloud account with a Gamma server. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what is done with your account. You can delete the account on its Settings page.

Plans and payment#

The plans, what each includes and their prices are listed on the pricing page. Prices are in US dollars; tax is added where it applies.

A plan is paid in advance, by the month or by the year, and renews automatically for the same period until you cancel it. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

We may change a plan's price or contents. A change applies from your next renewal, and we tell you by e-mail before it does.

No refunds#

Payments are not refunded, in whole or in part, including when you cancel partway through a period, stop using the service, change to a cheaper plan, or delete your account. The exception is where the law that applies to you gives you a right to a refund that cannot be excluded; these terms do not limit such a right.

A plan starts as soon as the payment is made. By subscribing you ask us to start the service at once.

Cancelling and changing a plan#

You can cancel on the Plan and billing page of your account. Cancelling stops the next renewal. The plan stays active until the end of the period already paid for, and until then you can undo the cancellation there.

You can change to another plan or billing period at any time. The change is confirmed on Stripe's page, which shows what is charged before you agree.

Deleting your account ends a plan at once, without a refund.

When a plan ends or a payment fails#

If a renewal payment fails, your plan keeps working for 7 days while the payment is retried. If it is still unpaid after that, the plan ends as described here.

Lite and Plus. Your library is kept where it is, but it is closed: you cannot sign in to it without a plan, so export what you want to keep before the plan ends. Your account goes back to the free allowance, and the pages you published stay online. We may delete files beyond the free allowance 90 days after the plan ended, and tell you by e-mail before we do. Subscribing again opens the library at once, as it was.

Pro. Your server:

  1. becomes read-only at once. You and your members can still sign in, read everything and export it;
  2. is stopped 30 days later;
  3. is deleted, with its files and backups, 90 days after the plan ended.

Subscribing again before the deletion brings the server back as it was. After the deletion the data cannot be recovered. A library on the shared server and a Pro server are separate: moving between Plus and Pro does not move your files, so export them from one and import them into the other.

Your content#

What you store in your library belongs to you. We do not read it, use it or share it, except as needed to run the service (storing it, making backups, and fixing a fault when you ask us to) or as the law requires.

You are responsible for what you store and share. Do not use the service to store or distribute material that is illegal or that you have no right to share, to attack or overload the service, or to resell it.

We may suspend an account or a server that breaks these rules or endangers the service. A suspended server is read-only, so its owner can still export their data.

Availability and liability#

We work to keep the service running and your data safe, and we keep backups. The service is nevertheless provided as it is, without a guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or free of faults. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose; the export is there for that.

To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes to these terms#

These terms are maintained in the Gamma repository, and changes are visible in its version history. If a change matters to people on a paid plan, we tell them by e-mail before it takes effect.
